Stampede Scholarships Awarded

Greeley, CO. - The Rocky Mountain Stampede announces the 2004 Stampede
Scholarship recipients. For the past several years the Stampede
Foundation, along with corporate sponsors such as Kodak of Colorado have
given scholarship monies annually to area Weld and Larimer County high
school seniors in support of their goals for higher education. "We
really value the importance of higher education, and want to support the
community by assisting college bound students in achieving their
dreams," said Lew Hagenlock, Chairman of the Stampede Committee.
The Stampede Foundation Scholarship Program will give out over $16,000
this year in scholarships along with corporate sponsor Kodak of
Colorado. The Rocky Mountain Stampede and its sponsors continue to
present opportunities to the community to support the Scholarship Fund.
- The "Search for the Gold" Pin Program features a truck giveaway at the Stampede as one of ten great prizes. By purchasing an envelope containing a commemorative Stampede pin and valuable coupons for just $2, you have a chance of getting a "gold" (colored) pin. A gold (colored) pin means you're eligible for a chance at winning a variety of fantastic prizes including a GMC Sierra Pick up courtesy of Northern Colorado GMC dealers, a JC Keepsake Diamond Necklace, an Outlets at Loveland Shopping Spree, a laptop computer courtesy of Northern Communications Group, two round trip airline tickets courtesy of Frontier Airlines, and many more spectacular prizes!
- The Rocky Mountain Stampede will also be holding a silent and live auction during the annual Stampede Sip & Spit Ball on June 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Events Center inIsland Grove Regional Park to help raise monies for the Scholarship Fund. This event is open to the community and is the kickoff for the 82nd Annual Stampede celebration. Tickets are $40 per person which includes dinner, beverages and a dance, and are available by calling 970-356-SPUR.
- The Rocky Mountain Stampede Calf Scramble sponsored by New Frontier Bank, will take place during the June 27 Pro Rodeo and features 16 contestants, boys and girls 12-14 years of age. The first eight contestants to halter a calf will receive a $300 scholarship that will be places in a bank account until the contestant can produce a high school diploma and proof of acceptance in an institute of higher education.
