More Artists Signed, Xtreme Bull Tour To Make A Stop At Stampede!

Please Note: Due to routing issues beyond Stampede control, Lonestar will now be performing on July 2 and the Doobie Brothers will be on July 3. They have switched from the initial announcement in December.

Greeley, CO. - Greeley's Rocky Mountain Stampede (formerly the Greeley Independence Stampede) announces more concert entertainment for the 2004 event. Phil Vassar makes a return to the Stampede to open for Lonestar on July 2. "Phil made quite an impression on Stampede goers last year... many claimed it was the best concert of last year's event," said Lew Hagenlock, Stampede Committee Chairman. Last year's ACM Top New Male Vocalist, Vassar is best known for hit songs "Just Another Day In Paradise," "Carlene," "That's When I Love You," "Six Pack Summer" and most recently "American Child." Vassar has long been a predominate songwriter in Nashville. Songs to Vassar's credit include "For A Little While" and "My Next Thirty Years" performed by Tim McGraw, "Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright" performed by Jo Dee Messina and "Right On The Money," performed by Alan Jackson.

Also signed on to join the Stampede Concert Series is classic rock group Loverboy. Loverboy has been an epic rock band since the release of their first album in 1980. Since then, Loverboy has produced 11 albums leading up to their 2001 release Live, Loud and Loose. Hit songs include "Lovin' Every Minute Of It," "Heaven In Your Eyes," "Workin' For The Weekend" and "The Kid is Hot Tonight" to name a few. Loverboy joins Journey for a June 24 classic rock evening that has become a tradition at the Stampede.

Blake Shelton makes a return to the Stampede to open for a very special July 4 Chris LeDoux concert. Shelton was featured on the Stampede Free Entertainment Stage in 2002 when his career was just taking off following the release of the hit song "Austin." Since then, Shelton has hit the big time with numerous hit songs including, "Ol' Red," "The Baby" and most recently "Heavy Liftin."

The Stampede is proud to announce Franky Perez will open for the Doobie Brothers on July 3. Perez is well on his way to becoming a rock icon with the release of his first album Poor Man's Son. "On most of the 18 tracks, you can feel the sweat that pours off him in concert." - JM, Country Music Television (CMT).

Stampede Demolition Derby To Be Featured On Travel Channel

Greeley, CO. - Greeley's Rocky Mountain Stampede has once again drawn national attention... only this time for the ever-popular Demolition Derby! Footage from last year's Demolition Derby will air on the Travel Channel this Sunday evening, and re-air on Monday night on Travel Channel Presents: Demolition Derby, U.S.A. A production crew for the Travel Channel came to the Stampede last summer on assignment to cover the Demolition Derby based on a tip from insiders of the demolition derby world. "They were told the Stampede Demo Derby was a place they needed to be if they were doing a documentary on the sport," said Kyle Holman, Stampede director of marketing, "we were happy to have them here." The Stampede is one of two events in the nation featured on the show, the other being the Midwest Royal Rumble in Oscaloosa, Iowa.
The show will air on the Travel Channel Sunday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. (MST) and again at midnight (MST) on Monday, March 15.

Scotty Emerick To Open For Reba Mcentire, Emerson Drive Out.

Greeley, CO. - Emerson Drive, initially scheduled to open for Reba McEntire concert on June 26, 2004, has cancelled their date with the Stampede due to a touring conflict. The up and coming Emerson Drive will instead be touring with Shania Twain in 2004.

Replacing Emerson Drive on the June 26 ticket will be Scotty Emerick, a new arrival on the Nashville scene. Emerick recently released the hit song, "I Can't Take You Anywhere," which features Toby Keith. Keith produced Emerick's debut album, set to be released early this year on DreamWorks Records. "In addition to bringing the biggest names in country music, the Stampede has also brought some of the most promising up and coming acts to Greeley.
