Ron Lapp Named 2004 Wrangler Top Hand

The Wrangler Organization is a group of hard-working, devoted individuals who assist the Stampede Committee in putting on the annual Greeley Stampede event. Each year one outstanding Wrangler is chosen to receive the "Top Hand Award." This award is given to a person or persons who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make the Wrangler Organization and Stampede a better event for all involved. This year the Wranglers have selected Ron Lapp as the 2004 Wrangler Top Hand recipient.

Ron Lapp has been a Wrangler since 1998. Ron has been involved in the Wrangler organization serving 4 of his 7 years as the secretary and general board member on the Wrangle Board. Ron's involvement in the Wrangler organization not only included the Greeley Stampede event, but also the information booth at the National Western Stock Show, part of the Wrangler sponsored team during the Weld County Relay for Life Walk for Cancer, to volunteering for the 9NEWS Health Fair which eventually turned into a career opportunity for him.

Ron's influence has reached many Wranglers. His entire family has volunteered for the Greeley Stampede for several years making it an entire family affair - his wife Marge, daughter Angel and sons Michael and Matthew as well as many extended family members. Even this year as he is battling cancer, he has urged his family to continue in the Wrangler tradition of volunteering.
