Scholarship Information

Applications for the 2018-2019 academic year will be posted at late in 2017. Please check back in November.

Weld County High School seniors who meet general qualifications and are scheduled to graduate in the spring are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their outstanding academic results, leadership in the community and plans to further their education.Recipients of the scholarship may use the scholarship at any accredited trade school, college or university.
In 2016, the Stampede Foundation awarded fifteen $2,000 general scholarships, two $1,000 art scholarships, one $1,000 rodeo scholarship and one $1,000 scholarship for Miss Rodeo Colorado.

The Stampede Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed to support continuing education for Weld County students. The Greeley Stampede produces and hosts annual events, including the Big Buckle Ball, Western Art Show and the Stampede Golf Tournament, to benefit the scholarship fund.Since the inception of the program in 1994, the Stampede Foundation has given more than $314,000 in
scholarships to 485 Northern Colorado students.

Selection Criteria

  • A student graduating from a Weld County High School in spring 2017
  • Involvement in school and community leadership activities
  • Grade Point Average (Minimum cumulative of 3.00)
  • Financial need may be considered

Scholarship Awards

  • Payable to the financial aid office where the recipient will be attending, in the name of the recipient
  • Scholarship amount will be paid in two equal payments per semester.
  • No cash paid directly to the student
  • Payment will be made to the college or university by September 1, 2017 or upon receiving written verification of acceptance
  • Scholarship must be used during the 2017/2018 school year
  • Scholarship may not be carried over and is non-renewable
  • Scholarships will be applicable to any institution of higher education
