Position Overview

The Accountant assists with financial strategies and manages accounting procedures and programs to meet Greeley Stampede objectives and goals. Supervision is provided by the General Manager; however, they are expected to exercise independence in the performance of the duties.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accounting
    • Manage, track and process accounts receivables and payables
      • Assist with commercial and food vendor payments and deposits
      • Assist with online website payments
    • Manage, track and process payroll and payroll tax reports
      • Manages employee time tracking program
      • Collect and maintain employee (full-time, part-time & seasonal) information and paperwork
    • Coordinate, track and process financial journal entries
    • Manage, coordinate and track bank reconciliations
    • Track ticket system reports and payments
    • Advise, track and implement cash management and handling processes
    • Manage, coordinate and track event budgets
    • Manage, coordinate, submit and track Inventory and sales tax
    • Coordinate and provide information for tax prep for CPA
    • Oversee cash room including scheduling and that procedures are followed during the event Oversee cash register program including z-report comparisons for beverage stands and merchandise sales
    • Oversee credit card machine program
    • Ensures that the Event’s fiscal accounting methods meet all Federal, State, City and professionally mandated standards; develops and proposes accounting policies;
  • Community Engagement
    • Represent the organization in the community through presentations, collaborative efforts, meetings and networking
  • Stampede Foundation, 501c3
    • Manage, track and process accounts receivables and payables
    • Coordinate and provide information for tax prep for CPA
    • Manage, coordinate and track financial journal entries
    • Manage, coordinate and track bank reconciliations

Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Day-to-day operations including:
  • Answer Phones
  • Small building projects and maintenance

  • Document filing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement- a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP and current and proposed GASB statements and pronouncements
  • Five years full charge bookkeeping experience
  • Vast experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience with intercompany transactions
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Oral and written communications skills
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable skills in public speaking and the development of presentations; ability to modify presentations for diverse audiences
  • Ability and willingness to work outside the normal work day, and effectively adjust to a changing work environment
  • Combined superior communication, interpersonal, time management and persuasive skills with a proven track record in planning and program execution
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness, combined with a very strong team oriented approach to work
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently; ability to present verbal and written material to media representatives and the general public
  • Car and valid driver’s license

Work Schedule

The Accounting Coordinator is a full-time hourly non-exempt position. The position will require flexible scheduling of work to accommodate peak times, community involvement and meetings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay range: $22.12 - $24.04
  • Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, retirement fund with employer contribution and PTO
