STAMPEDE DAY
FIVE: ARE YOU TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK?
June
30, 2014 (GREELEY, CO) Island Grove park opened at 4pm today as thousands of
fans, rodeo supporters and Western enthusiasts funneled into the park at the
Greeley Stampede.
As
the PRCA Pro Rodeo commenced at 7pm the arena filled up with over 5,700 fans
decked out in pink shirts, hats, socks, ribbons and even boots. It was an
opportunity for fans to show support Breast Cancer Awareness by being “Tough
Enough to Wear Pink”. Many of the toughest cowboys even show their
support by wearing pink. See the attached results list for contestant’s
placement, scores and information.
During
the pro rodeo the Greeley Stampede sold pink Frisbees for $5.00 each for guests
to purchase and toss into a pickup truck in the middle of the arena. Guests who
made their Frisbees into the bed of the pickup were entered into a random
drawing and one person walked away richer; a whole hot tub richer, courtesy of
Premium Leisure. All proceeds went to the Breast Cancer Center at Banner Health
to help women who are fighting breast cancer.
In
addition to the Rodeo, daily activities continued to be a sure hit with
families and individuals alike. Centennial Village and the Kids Korral have
numerous activities and performances throughout the days and evenings. The
activity’s descriptions, specifics and times can be found online or on the

Coronation
for Miss Rodeo Colorado took place yesterday, Sunday June 29th at
Greeley West High School as the new Miss Rodeo Colorado was crowned. Rhianna
Russell, the current 2014 Miss Rodeo Colorado will be passing her crown and
duties off to Marie Kidd. Kidd will be serving as the “Lady In Waiting”
for the next six months before she take the role of 2015 Miss Rodeo Colorado.
This
Wednesday Jana Kramer, country artist and star from One Tree Hill, will be
taking the 97.9 Free Stage around 10:30pm. Rodeo continues on Tuesday at 7:00
pm.
