The Stampede Wranglers
The Wranglers were established to assist the Greeley Stampede Committee in providing a celebration to promote Greeley & Weld County. Our vision is for Community involvement through charitable deeds, volunteer hours and promoting Higher Education through scholarships.

Membership
Who Can Join?
- Wranglers - Anyone age 18 and older
- Wrangler In Training - Anyone age 16 and older--2 years only
When can you join?
We accept applications from September through March 31.
Membership Expectations
- Meeting Attendance -
- Members are required to attend the Annual September meeting. This meeting is the annual election for the Wrangler Board members.
- Scheduled Membership meetings are held on a regular basis and members are expected to attend as many as they can.
- Annual Dues -
- Payable by December 31
late fees may be assessed if dues are not received by December 31 - Cancellation/refund date April 15
- Payable by December 31
- Completion of Signup & Liability Forms
- Participation During the Greeley Independence Stampede Event
- Work Day and/or Clean Up Day
- Parade Duties
- Concession Duties

Duties of a Wrangler
- Be Reliable & Responsible
- If you sign up we expect you to show up.
- Be Accountable -
- Check In
- Participation is required to maintain good standing. A check-in procedure will be used to track participation.
- Meals -
- Wranglers will be given meal tickets at check-in on the days you work.
- Be Flexible - be willing to help in any area
- Be Dedicated to the Event

Functional Levels Related to the Wrangler Organization
- Greeley Independence Stampede Committee - Governing Board for the Greeley Independence Stampede. The Board is comprised of 12 volunteer community leaders and each committeeperson has a specific area of responsibility. Assisting them is a Committee-appointed Wrangler, called a Trail Boss.
- Trail Boss - Appointed by the Committee Representative for each area - oversees the specific area assigned to their Committeeperson.
- Ramrod - Selected by the Trail Boss to oversee a specific sub area of each main area (i.e. Hospitality - Information Booth, Security - Ticket Takers).
- Wrangler Board - Elected by the Wrangler membership to provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Wrangler organization.
New Wrangler Expectations
- Sign up--Must have a Mentor/Buddy sign off on area
- Participation During the Greeley Independence Stampede Event
- Work Day and/or Clean Up Day
- Work a 2 hour shift in Parking
- Work at the Parade July 4
- Work 4 hour shift in Wrangler Concessions
- Volunteer Time in Work Areas
- Volunteer when needed (i.e. National Western Stock Show, 9 News Health Fair, Relay for Life, fund raisers)
Dress Code/Uniform
- Wrangler shirt with imprinted logo (long sleeve, short sleeve or polo) shall be worn during the Event
- Security Team members wear a designated colored shirt as chosen by the Security Committee person and Trail Boss.
- Wranglers working Rodeos are required by PRCA rules to wear a long sleeve-collared shirt, boots, and hat.
- All Wranglers will wear their issued ID while on grounds.

Awards
- Rookie of the Year Award
- Each Trail Boss will choose one new Wrangler who stands out during their first year of service as a Wrangler.
- Wrangler of the Year Award
- Trail Bosses for each area will select one person based on performance at the Event and year round involvement.
- Wrangler Board will select one person based on performance at the Event and year round involvement.
- Top Hand Award - Selection of 4 members from the Wrangler of the Year pool from each Work Area by the Wrangler Membership and then the Top Hand Award Winner will be selected from those 4 members by a committee of the Top Hand Award winners from the last 5 years.
- 5, 10, 15 Year Pins for current & active participation as defined in the By-Laws
- 20 Year Member (belt buckle)
Scholarships - Four Awarded Annually
- Wrangler with two years in good standing or their dependent
- $1000.00 each Award
- Good Moral Character
- Complete Application - Deadline April 30th
- Check to be sent to College Registrar's Office
- Funds used for tuition, books, & fees
- Accredited 2 or 4 year college, university or trade school
Incentives & Benefits
All Wranglers are entitled to:
- Wrangler Trailer - meals, beverages, "Home away from home"
- Social Events
- Christmas Party
- Family Picnic
- Awards - See Awards section
- Parking Pass for the entire event
- 2 Vouchers -
- Voucher can be used for Rodeo or Concerts.
- Admit 4 individuals, they all must enter at the SAME time.
- Enter Chute 11 ONLY
- Seating Sections: Concerts (Section P) Rodeos (Section U)
- Must purchase tickets to other events at the Ticket office.
- If rodeo or concert is sold out, NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED
- If a voucher is lost there will be NO Replacements.
- Additional vouchers distributed at Trail Bosses' discretion
Concessions - Wranglers work to provide vendors with beverages to sell through concessions and food vendors. The concessions crew is fondly called the "Brew Crew" and will work two shifts typically one am and one pm.

Decorations/Demo Derby - Wranglers will assist in putting up signs and banners that promote and provide information for the Stampede Event. Wranglers will also assist with Demo Derby by providing support for arena cleanup, parking demo vehicles, and maintaining order in the pits.

Feeds - There are several types of feeds through the event - pancake feed, watermelon feed, barbeques, and special function luncheons and dinners. Wranglers will assist at these 'feeds' by serving, selling tickets, setting up, and providing general support to make the 'feeds' successful.

Gold Spur City - Wranglers work at Gold Spur city making sure that our corporate sponsors are taken care of for meals and general hospitality needs.

Grounds - Wranglers work in grounds by providing the behind the scenes support for the event. They work with other areas in setting up planters, barricades, and structures. They also work with the rodeo Wranglers in proving support for the bull fence during rodeos, setting up livestock pens, and general management of grounds for smooth operations of the event.

Hospitality - Wranglers work in various areas when they work in Hospitality. They will be greeters, provide event information via the information booth, and provide wait staff and bartending services on the VIP patio and skyboxes.

Night Shows - Wranglers work as a team to setup and tear down the stage for acts, provide hospitality needs for performers and crew, and additional support services for entertainment.

Parades - Wranglers will work the parade route for the 4th of July Parade including barricade watch, TV zone security, parade organization and many other tasks. Under this area, the Long Horn Parade is also supported by Wranglers manning the parade in the park route. The Kids Rodeo is also staffed by Wranglers who are manning gates, running times, organizing participants, and providing over all support for the kids participating.

Parking - Wranglers work in the parking area to assist other volunteer groups in parking cars, taking money for parking, and providing general directions for the event. Wranglers in this area also provide shuttle services for patrons.

Rodeos - Wranglers work with livestock during the rodeos. The activities range from working with rough stock and working with timed event stock for the slack rodeos as well as working with the stock contractors.

Security/Ticket Takers & Ushers - Wranglers working in security are the eyes and ears of the local law enforcement groups who also are staff at the event. They patrol the grounds maintaining safe and secure areas for the event. Wranglers working as Ticket Takers and Ushers are staffed primarily in the arena stands and grounds to be sure ticketed patrons are able to enjoy the acts and rodeo that are provided by the Stampede Event.

Wrangler Functions - The Concession stand is the major fund raising tool of the Wranglers. The funds raised go toward our Scholarship fund, charitable donations, and our food and refreshments throughout the year. Wranglers also provide support through meals to the organization at the Wrangler trailer.
