Beverage Coordinator

2020 Position Overview


The Beverage Coordinator is a NEW position that is responsible for providing support to the Beverage Chairman and General Manager. Supervision is provided by the General Manager and will work directly with the Beverage Chairman; however, they are expected to exercise independence in the performance of these duties.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support and assist the Beverage Chairman:
    • Bartender Staff
      • Setup, process and review bartender applications
      • Coordinate bartender hiring events
      • Coordinate that all hired bartender employment paperwork is completed and submitted to the Stampede Accountant
      • Coordinate bartender schedules
      • Review payroll timecards for accuracy and make corrections as needed
      • Coordinate post-event bartender staff feedback survey
    • Policies & Permits:
      • Ensure that all Stampede policies and procedures are being implemented and followed
      • Coordinate and process all special events liquor permits with the City of Greeley
      • Coordinate with the City of Greeley to conduct Alcohol Awareness classes
      • Ensure that all Federal and State alcohol policies and laws are being followed
      • Ensure cash procedures are adhered to and strictly monitored
    • Bar Logistics and Setup:
      • Plan, setup and manage ten (10) event public bars
      • Plan, setup and manage two (2) event cart bars
      • Support six (6) event private bar areas
      • Basic refrigeration maintenance and servicing (as needed)
      • Assist with the ordering, placement, and pickup of event refrigeration units
      • Implement a master refrigeration maintenance and replacement program
    • Product Inventory & Sales:
      • Coordinate beer, soda & liquor product list and pricing
      • Ensure that all incoming beverage product from the distributors is properly inventoried
      • Coordinate a Point-of-Sale system that includes live sales reports and inventory tracking system
      • Ensure all unused product is properly returned and credit is received
      • Track all internal pop, beer, liquor & ice deliveries and returns
      • Invoice all internal beverage outlets for pop, beer, liquor & ice usage following the event
      • Track and order beverage paper products and supplies
      • Coordinate event ice program
      • Order off-season product for office use (as needed)
    • Support and assist the Accountant:
      • Responsible for the cash register program that includes ordering, setting up, maintaining, trouble shooting, creating reports, and returning the devices
      • Responsible for the credit card program that includes ordering, setting up, maintaining, trouble shooting, creating reports and returning the devices
    • Support and assist the Vending Chairman:
      • Assist and track with food vendor contracts
      • Assist & track with commercial and food vendor payments and deposits
      • Designated as the Event's contact with the Weld County Health Department
        • Responsible for submitting proper paperwork and fulfilling requirements
    • Special events & promotions as needed
    • General event and office support as needed
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School diploma
  • Restaurant, special events or management experience
  • Solid understanding of beverage cost controls and operating procedures
  • Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certified or willingness to become certfied
  • Experience with point-of-sale software
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations related to alcohol service and health code compliance
  • Competency in resource management and inventory control
  • Ability and willingness to work outside the normal work day, and effectively adjust to a changing work environment
  • Effective problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Proficient on a computer, point of sale, and Microsoft Office products. High proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Car and valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently; ability to present verbal and written material to the general public
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness, combined with a very strong team-oriented approach to work
  • This position will require frequent standing, bends and twists from the waist. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Work Schedule:

  • The Beverage Coordinator is an hourly non-exempt position. The position will require flexible scheduling of work to accommodate peak times, community involvement and meetings. This position is projected for 1,850 regular hours and 140 overtime hours for the fiscal year.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay rate: $19.00-22.00
  • Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance and PTO
  • Retirement fund with employer contribution after 12 months of employment
