KIDS COMPETITIVE EVENTS AT THE STAMPEDE
There are several opportunities for youth to be a part of the action during the 2018 Greeley Stampede. The Kids Rodeo is a traditional favorite that offers events for kids between the ages of 3 and 18 years old with and without livestock. A new addition to this year’s Demolition Derby is a kid’s heat known as “Mini Bashers” for kids between the ages of 3 and 8 years old to compete in the derby with their powered vehicles.
Kids Rodeo
The Greeley Stampede Kids Rodeo will take place Sunday, June 24 beginning at 10am. During the Kids Rodeo youth contestants compete in various rodeo events with and without livestock. The younger kids can compete in recreational mutton busting, goat tail pull and the stick pony race. The gymkhana (or "speed") events are split between junior and senior age divisions and include barrel racing, pole bending, flag race, keyhole race, and goat tie-down. Competitive rough stock events include mutton busting and progress from calf riding to steer riding to bull riding based on age range. The Kids Rodeo awards ceremony is slated to take place around 2:00pm complete with Bucky and Bertha and local rodeo queens. The event is free for spectators with park admission.

Mini Bashers
New at the 2018 Greeley Stampede is the opportunity for youth to participate in the Demolition Derby taking place on Independence Day – Wednesday, July 4th. Kids have the chance to join the derby action in a heat designed specifically for them! With tricked out, battery powered, pint-sized vehicles, youngsters between the ages of 3 and 8 can enter the Mini Bashers Heat. The goal is not to damage the vehicles, but rather to pop the balloons taped on the front and back of your opponents’ powered vehicles. The last kiddo driving with at least one balloon wins!
Age divisions are 3-5 years old and 6-8 years old. The first 10 eligible contestants in each age category will be invited to compete. Visit https://www.greeleystampede.org/p/minibashers to learn more and to enter into the Mini Bashers. The deadline to enter is Friday, June 15th.
