The 100th Greeley Stampede truly ended up being historic as the community came out to celebrate and enjoy everything the event had to offer. One of the most anticipated of the Stampede events each year is the Independence Day Parade. The 2022 parade featured over 110 entries, flyover and of course the iconic longhorns leading the way.
“The parade is such a community favorite and a great way to get involved,” commented Stephen Walker, Greeley Stampede Parades Chairman. “Seeing all of the families and hearing stories about the generations of people that have attended the event is incredible and gives us purpose for why we do this. It really brings everyone together to celebrate our independence. The fourth just wouldn’t be the same without it.”
To show appreciation for the time, creativity and dedication that community groups put into the parade, the Greeley Stampede awards entries in five different categories. This year’s winners of the Independence Day Parade and categories are:
Best Marching Band - Colorado Masonic Band Camp
Best Overall Float - Allo Communications
The Patriot Award - Young Marines Iwo Jima Float
Ebba Mae Granat Memorial Award - Greeley All City Marching Band
UNC Fan Pick Award - Colorado Stars & Stripes
The Greeley Stampede would like to thank everyone that participated in the parade as well as those that came out to watch and help keep the tradition alive. It’s never too early to start brainstorming ideas for next year!
