THE 2015
COLORADO RODEO QUEEN IS CROWNED
July 2, 2014 (GREELEY,
CO) Marie Kidd, a 21 year old from Avondale, CO has been named the 2015 Miss
Rodeo Colorado. Rhianna Russell will continue her reign as MRC until December
31, 2014 with Kidd serving as the MRC Lady-in-Waiting, then on January 1, Marie
Kidd will officially begin her reign as Miss Rodeo Colorado.
The pageant was
held June 26th – 29th during the 92nd Annual Greeley
Stampede where Kidd was the winner of the Horsemanship and Appearance Awards, and
the Photogenic Award. Amanda Summers of
Colorado Springs was 1st runner up and the winner of the Personality
and Congeniality Awards. The Spirit Award winner was Kirsten Peterson of
Evergreen. Additionally, Lizzie Snyder
of Rye was presented as 2nd runner up.
Other awards
presented were the 20 year Sponsor Award to the Colorado Fur Trappers and the
Bob Moore Volunteer Award given to Tracy Damrell.
Kidd is the
daughter of Rick and Jill Kidd and is a cum laude graduate of Colorado State
University-Pueblo with a degree in Athletic Training. She has been involved with the American
Quarter Horse Youth Association and 4-H where she was Ranch Horse Level 2
Senior Champion. She served as the
Pueblo County Fair Queen and the Arkansas Valley Fair queen. Kidd enjoys raising Corriente Cattle,
performing in musicals, and showing horses in reining and work cow horse
categories.
