PRCA Pro Rodeo Update for July 2

Today’s performance sponsored by Agfinity wrapped up the last of the long run of the Stampede’s PRCA Pro Rodeo series sponsored by Cargill. The top contestants from the series will be back tomorrow night for the PRCA Pro Rodeo Finals. This year the finals rodeo will be at night which has not happened for several years. What better way to watch to see who takes home the championship title than with the cool summer air and bright lights setting the mood?

Listed as a Top-25 Pro Rodeo according to purse size, the Stampede is famous for having a topnotch performance. The Greeley Stampede Rodeo features eight exciting events during every performance: Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Mutton Bustin, and Bull Riding.

  • Bareback Riding – Shane O’Connel riding Satin Sheets – score: 81.5
  • Steer Wrestling – Newt Novich – time: 4.5
  • Team Roping – Corey Whinnery and Derek Pake – time: 6.9
  • Saddle Bronc Riding – Lane Cust riding Regulator – score: 73
  • Tie Down Roping – J.D. Kibbe – time: 11
  • Mutton Bustin – Ella Suntych – score: 89
  • Barrel Racing – Sydni Blanchard – time: 17.3
  • Bull Riding – Dustin Muncy riding Frogger – score: 82

ABOUT THE GREELEY STAMPEDE: The Greeley Stampede, a 501(c)4 nonprofit corporation, is the Colorado’s premiere summer western celebration. This longstanding event has grown in diversity and popularity since its inception and has provided music and rodeo entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people every summer. The Stampede was inducted in the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2014 and the event was named 2015 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) Mountain States Large Rodeo of the Year.
