MISS RODEO COLORADO 2018 CROWNED AT 96TH GREELEY STAMPEDE
Alex Hyland of Windsor, Colorado Takes Home Title
Alex Hyland, a 22 year old from Windsor, CO has been named 2018 Miss Rodeo Colorado (MRC). Her reign will begin on January 1, so she begins with the title of MRC Lady-in-Waiting. After the four-day pageant held at the 96th Greeley Stampede, Alex was the winner of the Horsemanship, Speech, and Appearance Awards. Sara Bishop of Longmont was 1st runner up and the winner of the Personality and Spirit Awards. Kirsten Peterson of Gilchrest was 2nd runner up and also won the Congeniality Award. Allison Mitchell of Woodland Park won the Photogenic Award. The Written Test Award was presented to Sierra Knodle of Evergreen.
Alex is the daughter of Peter and Nancy Hyland of Windsor. Alex recently graduated from Colorado State University- Pueblo, Cum Laude with a degree in Mass Communications and plans to work in the rodeo industry. While in college; she served as the Director of External Affairs for the Associated Students’ Government, restarted, served as president, and competed for the rodeo team, and was a multiple Dean’s List and scholarship recipient. Alex’s passions for rodeo and agriculture come from her involvement in 4H, FFA, serving as the 2012 Rooftop Rodeo Queen and being raised on a ranch
